Museum Plaza
Museum Plaza is the current working name for the planned 703 foot (214 m) tall skyscraper (62 storys) that will be comprised of a one-acre public plaza and park, condominiums, lofts, a hotel, retail shops and a museum.
The groundbreaking, avant-garde design, from REX architecture of New York, has been praised as innovative and will drastically reshape the skyline of downtown Louisville, KY. The planned building will tower 154 feet taller than the next tallest building (the 549 foot tall Aegon Center) in downtown Louisville and will be the tallest building in the state of Kentucky and one of the tallest buildings in the region.
The groundbreaking ceremony is set for October 25, 2007, although preliminary site work on the project began in November 2006.
